Abstract     The authors own long experiencies gained in the treatment of children with bronchial asthma, which consists of breathing exercises, gymnastics and practice of various sports. They present the results obtained in two groups of asthmatic children engaged in various sports. Further the results of treatment of bronchial asthma and sport in conjunction with hyposensitisation have been presented. Pulmonary function tests in 75 patients suffering from bronchial asthma were analysed before and after sport. The following conclusions can be given. The pulmonary volumes (VC, RV, TC, FRC, MCB), Tffeneau test and Pneumometer values as well as the concentrations of arterial blood gases were controlled before and after sport. Prolonged sport treatment progressively improves the pulmonary functions. The boys showed significant better lung function values after skiing and cicling and the girls after roller-ice-skating and ping-pong, the difference is statistically significant (P 0,01). It seems justified to use sport as an adjuvant treatment for bronchial asthma in schoolchildren, combined with the specifc treatment in constitutes the therapy of choice in the disease.
