Abstract		Some results are presented from the study of patterns of illicit drug use and sexual behavior among 90 street injection drug users (ID Us) in the regions of Koper and Ljubljana conducted by non-random method known as "snowballing" in the year 1991. The majority of ID Us reported the sharing of injection equipment (71,1 per cent ) and unproperly cleaning of used equipment in the past year. Also, high-risk sexual behaviors were frequent among lDUs with 23 3 per cent of IDUs reported having more than 10 sexual partners. More than half of male ID Us never used condoms. 37,8 per cent ID Us had at least one contact with health agency because of drug-related problems. More than one half of ID Us (57,3 per cent ) have never tested for HIV infection.
