| Abstract | Aspirin reduces the risk of myocardial infarction, other major cardiovascular events and all cause mortality. Treatment is recommended for all people with established cardiovascular disease and also for people without cardiovascular disease but with a total cardiovascular disease risk equal or over 20%. Aspirin use is associated with increased risk of major bleeding and low doses are recommended in order to minimise adverse effects. |
