Abstract     A clinical case of a ten-year-old boy with a subcutaneous macrocystic lymphangioma in the left axillary region is presented. Cystic lymphangiomas are localised congenital malformations of lymphatic veins. The majority are found at birth; however because they are slow growing they may become visible only in adulthood. Only exceptionally do they spontaneously regress. Unexpected changes in size are usually due to infection or bleeding. Treatment of the patient with a cystic lymphangioma is individualised, depending on the size of cysts, location, and concomitant symptoms. In recent years in macrocystic lymphangioma, sclerotherapy with OK-432 alone or prior to surgery has become increasingly common.
