Abstract     Just as we need food and sleep, the human being requires physical movement every day. Physical movement is characterized by body posture in which all body parts are harmonized and consequently body, body balance is achieved by minimal muscle effort. By contracting, a muscle enables the movement of a body part. Muscle imbalance leads to changes in posture and the scope of dynamic mobility. Low back pain is due to imbalance in the lumbar spine and/or within the pelvic girdle. The interaction of three compomemnts, i.e. the active, passive and supervisory; is needed to achieve perfect spinal and pelvic stability. Good exercise programs should emphasize the active part of deep muscles which are essential for the stability of vertebral column and pelvic girdle. In the context of the present article, an observation study was carried out at the Maribor University Hospital Department of Gynecology and Perinatology. The study was aimed to survet the presence of low back pain in its nursing staff.
Summary     Človek potrebuje telesno gibanje vsak dan, kakor potrebuje hrano in spanje. Pri vsakem gibanju, pa tudi v mirovanju, je pomembna pravilna telesna drža, t.j. usklajenost vseh telesnih delov, ki omogoča, da dosežemo ravnotežje telesa z majhnim mišičnim naporom. Mišica je organ, ki s krčenjem omogoča gibanje telesnega dela. Mišično neravnovesje povzroči spremembe drže in dinamičnega obsega gibljivosti. Za bolečine v križu je značilna nestabilnost v ledvenem delu hrbtenice oziroma ledveno-medeničnem obroču. Za stabilnost hrbtenice in medenice je potrebno vzajemno sodelovanje treh komponent: pasivnega, aktivnega in nadzornega dela. V dobrih programih vaj je treba poudariti predvsem aktivni del, t.j. notranje oziroma globoke mišice, ki omogočajo stabilizacijo hrbtenice in medenice. V okviru tega prispevka je bila izvedena raziskava o prisotnosti bolečine v križu pri zaposlenih zdravstvenih delavcih. V anketi so sodelovali člani negovalnega osebja Klinike za ginekologijo in porodništvo v Mariboru.
