Abstract		Background: The purpose of this contribution is to show research by which collect the information about the definition of physiotherapy profession in public. Aims: In the research we were focusing on consumer of physiotherapy service and how they see the physiotherapists. First of all we were interesting how are they informed about the physiotherapy profession, the satisfaction with realization of physiotherapy service. Methods: This research was lead out in April 2008 in UKC Maribor on the Department of physiotherapy and rehabilitation medicine with use of questionnaire. 64 consumer (23 women's and 41 male) filled the questionnaire. Results: The average consumer of physiotherapy service is a male, age between 41-50 years old, with finished secondary school and the most frequent cause for visiting physical therapy is injury.
Summary		Teoretična izhodišča: Namen prispevka je prikazati raziskavo, s katero smo zbrali podatke o prepoznavnosti poklica fizioterapevta v javnosti. Cilji: V raziskavi smo se osredotočili na to, kako fizioterapevta vidi skozi oči uporabnik fizioterapevtskih storitev. Zanimala nas je predvsem njihova informiranost in prepoznavnost fizioterapevtskega poklica ter zadovoljstvo z izvedbo fizioterapevtskih storitev. Metoda: Raziskavo smo izvedli v mesecu aprilu 2008 v Univerzitetnem kliničnem centru Maribor na Oddelku za fizikalno in rehabilitacijsko medicino s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika. Anketo je izpolnilo 64 uporabnikov fizioterapevtskih storitev, od tega 23 žensk in 41 moških. Rezultati: Povprečnega uporabnika fizioterapevtskih storitev predstavlja oseba moškega spola, v razredu starosti med 41-50 let s končano srednješolsko izobrazbo, katerega najpogostejši vzrok za obisk fizikalne terapije predstavlja poškodba.
