Abstract		During the years 1988-1992 there were 193 patients with spinal injury hospitalized at University Institute for Rehabilitation-Soča, 119 of them with consequentional paraplegia and 75 with tetraplegia. The hospitalized were mainly men. Almost one of third was between age 15 to 24. The most frequent external cause for spinal injury were traffic accidents with motor vehicles and accidental falls.
