| Abstract | The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of cigarette smoke on the activity of MAO and its two isoemymes MAO A and MAO B in substantia nigra of the rat. In an acute experiment, in which either brain slices or living animals were exposed to cigarette smoke, significant inhibition of MAO and its isoenzymes in isolated nerve cells and in glial clumps was faund. | |
