Abstract		The results concerning oral health in R of Slovenia on the base of epidemiological studies, performed in the years 1987 and 1993 are shown. The WHO inquiry forms were used and WHO instructions considered. 1623 persons were examined in the first and 1567 in the second study, their age being 6, 12, 15, 18, 35 - 44 and above 65 from 10 selected locations. The results show that the caries incidence in 12 years old children has decreased from 93,6 per cent to 69,1 per cent in 6 years period. In children ofthe same age the average number of DMF teeth decreased from 5,1 to 2,6. The percentage ofpersons without extractions has increased in all the age groups. The periodontal disease status has not improved significantly. This means that only the trend ofdental caries has reduced significantly owing to mass implementation of preventive measures.
