Abstract		Results. Phosphatidylcholine in a single 20-mg dose reduces adhesions after small bowel anastomosis (P less th. 0.01). DL-phosphatidylcholine reduces the adhesions after bacterial peritonitis ( less th. 0.01). Conclusions. Surface-active materials reduce intra-abdominal adhesionformation after anastomosis and bacterial peritonitis in the rat.
