Abstract     The laser triangulation method presents an optic method which enables by means of computer processing of 3D image different quantitative analyses of the measures surfaces. In medicine, it represents a challenge for measuring body surface and with an optic system also reachable apertures - especially oral. The method has been technically known already 30 years and is used for different fields in medicine. For example, in rehabilitation it enables a recording of the entire body, computer processing of 3D image, and construction of a technical device with exact fit to the measures surface. We used the method at the Institute for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine to analyse spinal sagittal curvatures which represent the most patient-friendly measuring option. We used a special device constructed for recording of the spine, designed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Ljubljana University. We performed measurements on 250 patients of both genders aged between 20 and 70 years old. The average angle value of thoracic kyphosis was 46.8⁰ and lumbar lordosis 31.7⁰. The laser triangulation method was previously compared with a reference method. We also measured the measurement variability in different recording conditions.
Summary     Metoda laserske triangulacije predstavlja optično metodo, ki s pomočjo računalniške obdelave tridimenzionalnega (3-D) posnetka omogoča različne kvantitativne analize merjene površine. V medicini predstavlja izziv za meritev površina telesa in z optičnim sistemom dosegljive odprtine - predvsem ustna. Metoda je tehnično poznana že skoraj 30 let in se v medicini uporablja na različnih področjih. V rehabilitaciji npr. omogoča posnetek dela telesa, računalniško obdelavo 3-D slike in izdelavo tehničnega pripomočka, ki se natančno prilega merjenemu predelu. Na Inštitutu za fizikalno in rehabilitacijsko medicino UKC Maribor smo metodo uporabili za analizo sagitalnih krivin hrbtenice, kar predstavlja za uporabnika najbolj prijazno možnost meritve. Uporabili smo za ta namen posebej izdelan aparat za snemanje hrbtenice, izdelan na Fakulteti za strojništvo Univerze v Ljubljani. Pri meritvah na 250 preiskovancih obeh spolov v starosti od 20 do 70 let je bila povprečna vrednost kota prsne kifoze 46,8⁰ in ledvene lordoze 31,7⁰. Predhodnoje bila metoda laserske triangulacije primerjana z referentno metodo, prav tako pa je bila preverjena tudi variabilnost meritev v različnih pogojih snemanja.
