Abstract		In article we list some important historical facts about using electromagnetic fields in scientific researches and specially in the field of medicine. In the 70's physic Kraus and orthopaedic surgeon Lechner used magnetotherapy in completion treatment of bone fractures treated already with osteosynthesis (magnetically induced electro-osteo-stimulation). Other authors introduced use of low-frequency magnetic fields in less aggressive manner from outside of the body in the therapy of hip aseptic necrosis, loosen hip prosthesis and delayed union of the fractures. Using these experiences we made an analysis of magnetotherapy and balneotherapy effectiveness in 12 men with painful hip osteoarthritis.
