Abstract		The work of a registered nurse, living and working in the village where she was born, is described. Owing to a good knowledge of people their habits, troubles mutual attachements etc., she is able to have an insight into the reality of families. At her work she closely collaborates with the physician, with whom she shares educational work (in the frame of competencies). The aim of this work is to establish as much healthy families as possible and to enable young people for a happy life. The educational work with pregnant women, children, school-children, parents at work in out-patient department and at visits of families is described.
