Abstract		Different types of injuries to the teeth can have different consequences. Careful registration and classification of the injury is important for two reasons: to ensure appropriate therapy and to provide adequate records for the insurance company. The author calls attention to the need for a new approach to be adopted in dealing with injuries to the teeth, especially those that occur in early childhood and are likely to lead to complications affecting the permanent dentition.
