Abstract		The authors describe typical injuries to the primary teeth encountered in different age groups. As in the permanent dentition, treatment is always individual, taking into account the child's mental development and cooperation in the therapeutic measures. Injuries to the primary teeth are rarely the subject of lawsuits and claims for compensation. Two case reports are presented, illustrating facial trauma sustained at the age of a year and a half that resulted in serious consequences in the permanent dentition. Treatment is based on the team approach; it is prolonged and stressful for both the child and the parents. The authors point out the need to redefine the criteria used in evaluating injuries to the primary dentition as they often leave serious irreversible sequelae affecting the permanent dentition.
