| Abstract | Background. This article aims to account the development of health status indicators in the general population. The new indicators which are promoted by WHO with strategies health for all by the year 2000 are presented. Methods. A description were used to present the development of health status indicators. Conclusions. Data from health status indicators could be used for formal assessment of health status in the general population, use available resources more effectively, improve national health information system, propose priority actions for improving the health status of the population etc. The physicians should pay particular attention during the process of collecting of data. | |
