Abstract     Background. A case report of a patient, who aspirated a coin during drunkeness is reported. A chest roentgenogram was made because of haemoptysis three months later. The foreign body was eliminated with fiberbronchoscope with standard biopsy forceps. Conclusions. Up to 0.05 per cent of patients admitted to the pulmonary departments have foreign bodies. They are usually extracted with rigid or sometimes with fiberoptic bronchoscope. The advantage of rigid bronchoscopy is a broad working channel with bigger and stronger forceps, the advantages of fiberbronchoscopy are easier insertion and the usage of local anaesthesia instead of general anaesthesia.
