Abstract     Background. Like all allergic diseases in general, allergic diseases with skin manifestations are also increasing. The most frequent of these diseases are shown, mostly IgE and IgG-dependent allergic diseases with skin manifestations, their etiopathogenesis, epidemiology in Slovenia and worldwide, clinical features and the most up-dated diagnostic procedures and treatment. In this article, the results of prick tests are given, and also the total IgE of 55 patients (treated in Allergologic outpatient clinic of Institute for Pulmologic Diseases and Tuberculosis Golnik) diagnosed with atopic dermatitis or urticaria. Conclusions. The growing industrialisation, the improvement of living standards and environmental pollution have caused the increase of allergic diseases. With knowledge of the origin of the disease with elaborated diagnostic procedures and with adequate treatment the patient's troubles can be greatly alleviated, and if the allergen is established and eliminated, the troubles can be suppressed.
