Abstract     Smart Home IRIS is a demonstrative apartment, founded in 2008 on the basis of numerous European smart home projects. The aim of this study was to establish the role of Smart Home IRIS in improving quality of life for persons with disabilities and elderly in Slovenia and the satisfaction of persons who have already been involved in a treatment in it. We analyzed a satisfaction questionnaire of the treatment in Smart Home IRIS, sent to all patients in 2008 (79 in total), as well as the problems, identified by patients in the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM). We received 36 correctly filled-in questionnaires; 11 respondents were women and 25 men, with a mean age of 44.2 years (range 18-80 years) and with different diagnoses. The analysis of the satisfaction questionnaire showed that the patients received several services. The information and solutions suggested by professionals were partially implemented; information and solutions have a medium influence on the quality of their life. In the COPM, patients identified the problems that lead to treatment in the Smart Home IRIS. The patients were satisfied with the treatment and the professionals' work in the Smart Home IRIS. Establishment of Smart Home IRIS significantly contributes to a better quality of life, which is the main aim of rehabilitation.
Summary     Dom IRIS je demonstracijsko pametno stanovanje, ki je bilo po vzoru številnih evropskih tovrstnih projektov postavljeno leta 2008. Namen študije je bil ugotoviti, kakšna je vloga Doma IRIS pri zagotavljanju višje kakovosti življenja oseb z zmanjšanimi zmožnostmi in starejših v Sloveniji ter zadovoljstvo že obravnavanih pacientov s celovito obravnavo glede potrebe po podporni tehnologiji. Pacientom z različnimi diagnozami, obravnavanim v Domu IRIS v letu 2008 (skupaj 79), smo poslali Vprašalnik o zadovoljstvu z obravnavo ter s Kanadskim testom ocenjevanja težav pri izvedbi namenskih aktivnosti (angl. Canadian Occupational Performance Measure, COPM) analizirali težave, ki so jih navedli obravnavani pacienti. Prejeli smo 36 ustrezno izpolnjenih vprašalnikov (46 %); sodelovalo je 11 žensk in 25 moških, povprečno starih 44,2 let (od 18 do 80 let), z različnimi diagnozami. Z analizo Vprašalnika o zadovoljstvu z obravnavo smo ugotovili, da smo pacientom med obravnavo posredovali različne storitve; informacije in predlagane rešitve so v veliki meri zadostile njihovim potrebam in imele srednji vpliv na kakovost njihovega življenja. Približno polovica pacientov je predlagane rešitve delno uresničila. Pacienti so pri izpolnjevanju COPM navedli težave z različnih področij človekovega funkcioniranja, ki so vodilo za obravnavo v Domu IRIS. Iz rezultatov lahko sklenemo, da so bili pacienti z obravnavo in z delom strokovnih delavcev zadovoljni ter da je ustanovitev Doma IRIS bistveno prispevala k višji kakovosti življenja obravnavanih pacientov, kar je tudi glavni cilj obravnave v Domu IRIS in celotne rehabilitacije.
