Abstract     Inflammatory intestinal diseases are clinically extremely important affections of the small and/or large intestine of still unknown original cause. With regard to the unknown cause, etiological treatment is not possible. The aim of drug treatment is to interrupt the chain of reactions responsible for the spreading of the inflammatory process. Cortico-steroids, aminosalicylates, abtibiotics and immunosuppressors are asserted medicaments for the treatment of chronic inflammatory intestinal diseases. Indeed, the prescribed therapy may also have side effects, at times expressed to such an extent that the therapy has to be interrupted.
