Abstract		Cluster headache is one of the most painful conditions known. Being uncommon in the clinical practice, it may be difficult to recognize. Proper diagnosis is crucial because effective therapy is available. In episodic forms of the disorder, management is directed towards preventing bouts of attack and aborting any attacks that occur despite preventive therapy. In chronic cluster headache and chronic paroxysmal hemicrania, treatment is aimed at reducing the frequency and severity of painful episodes.
