| Abstract | The paper deals with some changes of quality in mental development in adulthood. Psychology development researches in the last ten years have disposed of the general conviction that there is no mental development in terms of quality after the late adolescence period. Explanations on the nature of mind which follow formal logical operations have throughly changed the understanding of the forms of adult thinking among developmental psychologists. In view of this, we present four of the most relevant theories regarding the development of the mind in adulthood, as well as some results of the empirical studies carried out throughout the world and in Slovenia. | |
