Abstract		The article reviews thirteen researches carried out under the Chair of Clinical Psychology of the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. These are studies of different psychomatic diseases and disorders and the application of a considerable number (twenty-six) of psycho-diagnostic instruments. The considered subject, the usability of the instruments and the basic characteristics of the diseases were analysed and a draft model for further research of psychic factors in psyhosomatic diseases was produced. In our opinion, special attention should be dedicated to the basic dimensions of personality, aggressiveness and ways of coping with stress, within the framework of life style and supported by life history data. For this purpose it would be reasonable to compose a set of basic psycho-diagnostic instruments and inform General Practioners in particular, who most frequently meet with them, of the problems concerning psychic factors in psychosomatics diseases. We are convinced that somatic therapy in psychosomatics diseases, althrough inevitable, is unfortunately inadequate as it fails to treat a patient holisticaly, which is an essential approach in psychosomatic. This is a field where medicine and psychology are going to met ever more frequently.
