Abstract     In the course of Lyme borreliosis which is considered to be a multisystemic disease, rheumatic manifestations are very frequent. In a review of these manifestations four categories can be recognized: 1 - Arthralgias without objective findings, 2 - Arthritis (intermittent or chronic) with objective findings of effusion, 3 Chronic joint and bone involvement and 4 - Involvement of muscles (myalgias, myositis). In this paper the pathogenesis, clinical findings, diagnosis and differential diagnosis are discussed.
