Abstract     Determination methodology of residues of carazolol in organs, muscle and fat tissue and body fluids of slaughter pigs was introduced. Procedures followed the so far published methods including the modifications which adapted them to the conditions of "home" lab. The samples were extracted with acetonitrile and diethyl ether, for clean-up of organs and muscle SPE was used, while fat, urine and serum were cleaned-up with liquid-liquid extraction. The HPLC was performed with specially deactivated stationary phase and fluorescent detection. The results were evaluated according to studies of the spiked blank samples. The quantification was performed due to the internal standard. The results obtained show excellent linearity and high selectivity although smaller background was occasionally detected. Average method recoveries were between 83,5 per cent and 127,4 per cent (range 1-20 micro g/kg; micro g/l). Also the average range precision over 5 days was validated (C. V. between 6,0 per cent and 12,4 per cent), as well as inter-day and intra-day (C. V. between 3,3 per cent and 13,8 per cent ) precision at the same concentration level. Mean results deviated from the "true" values between - 11,7 per cent and 10,1 per cent . The limits of detection were far below MRL determined by the EEC. Methods introduced are completely suitable for routine control of samples from export slaughterhouses.
