Abstract     Adhesion of labia minora is anomaly which may develop during intrauterine life or in childhood. The aethiology is not clear but decreased secretion of maternal or patient's oestrogen and vulvar inflammation were reported as possible cause of this disorder. Nine year old girl with suspected atresia of vulva due to adhesion of labia minora is presented. Hormonal investigations revealed undetectable levels of oestradiol. The separation of labia minora was achived by topic application of oestrogen containing cream. Undetectable oestradiol and effective treatment suggest the possibility of connection between impaired oestrogen secretion and adhesion of labia minora.
