Abstract		Presented in the paper is a chronological survey of the development and introduction of ES into rehabilitation programs for hemiplegics. Described are clinical experiences with various electrical stimulators. The author deals more specifically with a program for the prevention of anomalies during gait, either as therapy or as application of the electrical stimulator in its orthotic function. Mention is made of other -single- or multichannel- modes of ES.
