Abstract     Haemorrhage is the main cause of death in trauma victims. We present a case of successful diagnostics, volume replacement, resuscitation, and damage control surgery of a severe polytraumatised patient with a rupture of the right cardiac ventricle. We recommend the use of ATLS protocols in order to reduce the time needed to commence damage control surgery. Despite there is no common consensus on massive transfusion protocol, we recommend aggressive volume judgement, and TEG or TEM, where available.
