Abstract		Aim: To determine the level of contamination by intestinal parasites of the present population from the regions of Primorsko - goranska županije, Ličko - senjska županija, and eastern Istria, during the last ten years (1986-1995). Methods: Most of the material us ed in our investigation was formed excrement, and the rest were provoked liquid excrement and perianal prints. Native material observations and Fiillerborn's concentration were investigation methods for eggs of intestinal hc1mintes. Lugol staining and MIFC concentration were investigation methods for protozoa's cysts. Microscopic samples for diagnosing vegetative forms of protozoas were heated up to 37C. Results: A total of 294 637 samples were examined during the period between 1986 - 1995. There were 17 873 (6.1%) positive sampJcs. The highest percentage of protozoas were Entamoeba histolytica (3.03%) and Entameba coli (3.01%), and of helmil1t~ Enterobius vermicularis (0.69%).
