Abstract     The relationship between the supply of cows with nutritive matters and the concentration of urea in milk and serum has been studied. Highly productive cows in postpartum period in winter feeding regime were examined. The orientation analysis of consumed nutritive matters on the 46th day after calving showed 17,86 per cent deficit of energy and 7,07 per cent deficit of protein with regard to average production on the same day. No statistically significant correlations was found out between the nutritive matters in the ration and the concentration of urea in the milk and serum.
