Abstract     The authors report on a simple technique of storing the seminal fluid in fiqusd nitrogen. A glycerol based medium without yolk is used as cryoprotectant. The specimens (n=75) were stored in a tuberculin syringe. After thawing, the semen motility dropped from 60.6 q 16.1 per cent to 27.5 q 16.3 per cent. The sperm motility after thawing was better (32.6 q 14.7 per cent) in the ečaculate with more than 50 mill/ml motile sperms than in the ejaculate with less than 50 mill/ml (18.4 per cent q 14.7 per cent). Using the swim-up technique, the separation of motile sperms from the thawed specimen was successful in cases where the native ejaculate contained more than 50 mil/ml of spermatozoa.
