Abstract     Človek lahko preživi, če zmore v svojem življenjskem in delovnem okolju vzdrževati stalno območje temperature telesne sredice. Vrsta perifernih in centralnih termoreceptorjev nadzira vazomotorični odziv, v skrajnostih pa tudi fiziološke procese povečane tvorbe ali izgube toplote. V prispevku so na kratko predstavljeni procesi tvorbe in izgube toplote, molekularni in celični mehanizni zaznavanja sprememb v temperaturi, moderen pogled na uravnavanje telesne temperature in vplivi netermalnih dejavnikov s poudarkom na povišani telesni temperaturi.Survival in living and working conditions is only possible when the human body core temperature is kept within a constant zone. Many peripheral and central thermoreceptors monitor the vasomotor tone, and at extremes also physiological processes of heat production or heat loss. The present paper shortly reviews processes of heat loss and heat production, molecular and cellular mechanisms of thermoreception. It describes a modern concept of temperature regulation including the influence of nonthermal factors, especially fever.
