Abstract		Inflammatory rheumatic diseases present a greatburden to patients and society in general. Etiologyof many of these disorders is not yet elucidated. Allshare in common an inappropriate response of theimmune system to organisms own antigens, whichcan manifest itself in a very diverse clinical presentationand can affect every major organ system. Inlast few years, we are witnessing a rapid developmentof new treatment options which often significantlyimprove patients quality of life and preventprogression of disability. In this article, we describethe principal characteristics of the most notable inflammatoryrheumatic diseases.
