Abstract		The aim of the study was to examine the influence of conus crowns on adjacent periodontal tissues. The plaque index, the gingival index and the depth of periodontal pockets were determined to estimate the amount of dental plaque and the periodontal status of teeth bearing conus crowns. The teeth studied were divided in two group depending on the type of preparation: feather edge preparation was present in 122 teeth and chamfer preparation in 45. The results showed that feather edge preparation was associated with a greater amount of plaque deposits, a higher rate of gingival inflammation and greater pocket depth.
