Abstract | Femoral neck (FN) shape after 69 varisation osteotomies for Perthes disease (PD) was determined from preoperative and postoperative AP X-ray films (after an average follow up of 6 years). The increase in FN width and decrease in FN length observed 9 months after the onset of PD are unchanged during the follow up. Six years after varisation osteotomy the maximum stress in the hip joint articular surface is the same as in the normal contralateral hip. | |
