Abstract		The study concerned 44 subjects, aged over 80 (between ages of 80-90); 32 women and 12 men. The body weight, height and 14 skinfolds were measured. The nutritional history was taken too. Fasting blood samples from anticubital vein were also collected and some biochemical parameters here determined. In men there were higher mean values for weight and height, bur lower mean values for indices of obesity (skinfold thickness). The upper arm circumference and plasma triglycerides, cholesterol and glucose concentrations were similar in men and women. Plasma HDL cholesterol levels were correlated negatively with indices of obesity in both sexes. These correlations between some biochemical and some nutritional parameters were not significantly correlated in man and women. Only relationships between plasma cholesterol and ingestion of fat meals were significantly correlated in men and women.
