Abstract     The combination of pregnancy and renal parenchymal disease is not considered as worrisome as it was before. Normotensive women with chronic renal disease and those with preserved renal function experienced a favorable outcome of pregnancy in nearly 90 percent of the case... We do not recommend pregnancy in patients with moderate renal insufficiency (serum creatinine exceeding 160 mikromol/l) and in those with uncontrolled hypertension. In patients with scleroderma and periarteritis, pregnancy should not be undertaken. For successful pregnancy in women with renal disease, close cooperation between the obstetrician, nephrologist and neonatologist is mandatory.
