Abstract     Biomechanical situation after Chiari and Bernoise pelvic osteomies is studied on a static three dimensional mathematical model of an adult human hip in monopodal body position for various mathematically simulated pelvic shapes, various rotation center positions, and body weight. The represented results indicate that the persistence of a positive Trendelenburg sign (T) after Chiari and Bernoise pelvic osteomies may be due to a grave preoperative muscle weakness, and it was assumed that its incidence is the highest in a steep pelvic type, followed by a shallow, high and broad. The incidence of the sign T could, however be dimnished in all pelvic types by reducing the body weight. Our results thus indicate that pelvic shape and body weight should be taken into account when interpreting a new biochemical situation after an operative measure changing the position of the hip rotation center. Key words: biomechanics, Bernoise osteotomy, Chiari osteotomy.
