Abstract | The model of neutrophil oxidative burst measured with chemiluminescence has been used to determine whether pulsed electric current might induce functional response in nonexcitable cells. In addition it was tested whether pulsed electric current might modify cellular response to tumor-promoting phorbol myristate acetate (PMA). Electric current did not elicit oxidative response by itself. However, oxidative burst response to PMA of electrically treated cells was markedly increased. | |
