Abstract     Emulzije, stabilizirane s trdnimi delci, Pickering emulzije, postajajo v zadnjih letih raziskovalno izredno zanimive. Vse bolj se dopolnjuje znanje o umeščanju delcev na medfazo, predvsem pa se iščejo povezave med površinskimi značilnostmi delcev in tipom ter stabilnostjo nastale emulzije. Težnjo delcev, da se raje porazdeljujejo v oljni ali vodni fazi, opišemo z močljivostjo, ki je opredeljena s stičnim kotom. Številne lastnosti Pickering emulzij lahko pripišemo visoki prosti energiji adsorpcije delca na medfazo. Tako je delec skorajda ireverzibilno umeščeen na medfazi, kar prispeva k učinkoviti stabilizaciji emulzije. Slednje pa je odraz še nekaterih drugih dejavnikov, kot so: koncentracija, velikost in površinske lastnosti delcev, interakcije med delci, vrsta oljne faze, itd. Primerne interakcije oljne in vodne faze ter delcev omogočajo izdelavo najrazličnejših materialov, kjer so nastali emulzijski sistemi medprocesni ali končni izdelki. Uporabnost teh je doseganje boljšega nadzora nad stabilnostjo in odzivnostjo emulzij, kar zagotovo odpira nove možnosti farmacevtsko uporabnim odkritjem.The use of solid - stabilized emulsions, Pickering emulsions, is a source of growing interest over the last few years. The overall knowledge about particles at interfaces, focused mostly toward the link between the interfacial properties and the emulsion type and stability, is progressing. The water - or oil - linking tendency of a spherical particle can be describedin terms of its wettability via contact angle. Many of the emulsion properties can be attributed to the very large free energy of particle adsorption at the interface. Thus the particles are almost irreversible held at the interface what leads to extreme emulsion stability. There are also someadditional factors influencing emulsion stability: concentration, size andsurface characteristics of particles, interparticles interactions, oil type, etc. However, the appropriate association of oil, water and particles allows a large set of materials to be obtained, where emulsion systems are used either as intermediate or end products. These applications offered to achieve better stability and response control thus new developments are to be expected also in pharmaceutical field.
