Abstract     MRI enables continous and nondestructive investigation of embryonic development. This study shows the possibilities of noninvasive monitoring of the early stages of embryonic development. Chick embryos were used for the study. Measurements were performed on a small animal Bruker MRI system operating at 2.35 T (100MHz). Multi slice-multi echo technique was used and T2 weigted images were recorded. Eggs for the study of chick development were incubated at 37 degrees Celsium and at 60 percent relative humidity. It was found that during the first week it is possible to locate the embryo, but more information arises from the reorganization of the yolk and albumen, as well as from the development of the amniotic cavity.
