Abstract     Different types of non-electrode biosensors were constructed to determine biologically active molecules, like antibodies. It has been repeatedly demonstrated that proteins which are firmly bound on a selective surface change the transducer's signal. Among different types of transducer the piezoelectric quartz crystals are of interest. It is of interest to detect antigen-antibody interactions performing the measurements similarly as in ELISA. Presented report describes the binding of Legionella pneumophila antigen onto the 10 MHz AT-cut piezocrystal, and subsequent direct detection of antibodies in rabbit's sera. The data from immunosensor's measurements were correlated with those from ELISA assay performed under the same conditions.
