Abstract     Teoretična izhodišča: Delo s kritično bolnimi pacienti zahteva vedno nova znanja. Zaposleni v zdravstveni negi morajo spremljati nove smernice in standarde, ki omogočajo bolj kakovostno delo in razvoj zdravstvene nege. V postopku izdelave, so zemljevidi znanja, za vsakega posameznega zaposlenega v Enoti za intenzivno medicino operativnih strok. S tem bomo pridobili natančne informacije o znanju in neznanju zaposlenih. Zemljevid znanja vključuje tako življenjske aktivnosti pri pacientu, kot tudi druga tehnična znanja, ki jih mora medicinska sestra v intenzivni enoti poznati npr. rokovanje z odpadki, preprečevanje bolnišničnih okužb in delovanje in upravljanje različnih aparatov, s katerimi se zdravi kritično bolnega pacienta. Namen prispevka je prikazati kako lahko z zemljevidom znanja pripomoremo k optimalnemu profesionalnemu razvoju zaposlenih v zdravstveni negi. Metode: Pregled literature in analize raziskav smo izvedli na podlagi literature najdene na Cobis.si in v tujih bazah podatkov: Medline, PubMed, ScienceDirect. Uporabili smo ključne besede: zemljevid znanja, intenzivna enota, izobraževanje medicinskih sester, knowledge map, intensive care unit. Rezultati: Izdelan zemljevid znanja vključuje znanja, ki jih morajo medicinske sestre v intenzivni enoti poznati in obvladati. Pri svojem delu se srečujejo s postopki in posegi, ki se izvajajo vsakodnevno in tudi s takšnimi, ki se izvajajo redkeje. Z zemljevidom znanja za vsakega posameznega zaposlenega ugotovimo, katera njegova znanja so optimalna in pri katerih intervencijah določena medicinska sestra potrebuje več izobraževanj. Razprava: Z zemljevidi znanja se zagotovo lahko dvigne nivo zdravstvene nege na oddelku in v bolnišnici. Pomembno je, da pri nastajanju in oblikovanju sodelujejo vsi zaposleni. Zelo pomembna je motivacija s strani glavnih medicinskih sester k nenehnemu izobraževanju zaposlenih. Na našem oddelku smo na začetku priprave in uvajanja zemljevidov znanja, kar predstavlja velik korak v razvoju in dvigu kakovosti zdravstvene nege tudi v bolnišnici.Introduction: Working with critically ill patients permanently require new working skills. Intensive care nurses have to be accompanied with new guidelines and standards that enable higher quality work and development of nursing care. The purpose of this article is to show how knowledge maps can define an optimal professional development of the nurses. With knowledge maps, that are in the creating process, for each intensive care nurse, we will obtain accurate information about the knowledge and qualifications. We'll find out for which intervention further education for each nurse in is required and to what extent the individual nurse is qualified for a particular interventions. The knowledge map includes life activity and technical skils for nurse in intensive care unit, such as waste handling, hospital infections prevention and technical knowledge for various types of machines used in the treatment of critically ill patients. Methods: A literature review and analysis of it, was carried out on the basis of the literature found Cobib.si and foreign databases: Medline, PubMed, ScienceDirect. Scientific articles were searched with the following keywords: map skills, intensive care units, nursing education, knowledge map, intensive care unit. Results: We have created knowledge maps, which include knowledge, for intensive care nurses. During their work nurses are faced with the procedures and interventions carried out on a daily basis and also with those which are carried out less often. With the knowledge map for each nurse, there is significant for which skills the nurse is competent and for which certain interventions nurses needs more training. Discussion: With knowledge maps certainly the level of nursing care in the hospital can be raised. It is important that all the nurses participate in the modeling and creation of the knowledge map. The motivation of the head nurses is very important and also the awereness to the continuous education for the nurses. In our department we are at the beginning of the creation and implementation of knowledge map and that is a major step in developing and improving the quality of nursing care in the hospital.
