Abstract     Uvod: Podaljšanje življenjske dobe ob optimalnem zdravstvenem stanju starostnikov je vplivalo na časovni zamik potrebe po negovanju. Danes so starostniki v institucionalni oskrbi v povprečju stari 80 in več let, imajo več kroničnih bolezni ali njunih hujših zapletov, ki spreminja do sedaj uveljavljeno obravnavo, kar terja kadrovske, kvalifikacijske in strukturne spremembe v organizaciji dela. Metode: Raziskava temelji na kvantitativnem pristopu s tehniko anketiranja zaposlenih v domu starejših. Vključitveni kriteriji so bili: vsakodnevno neposredno delo z starostniki z najmanj 3 mesece delovnih izkušenj. Uporabljen je kratek vprašalnik o obremenitvah in zadovoljstvu z delom. Statistična obdelava v programskem paketu SPSS 17 za okolje Windows. Uporabljene so metode deskriptivne statistike in faktorske analize. Namen prispevka je ugotoviti dejavnike zadovoljstva zaposlenih z delom v institucionalni oskrbi starostnikov. Raziskovalno vprašanje se glasi: Kateri so osnovni dejavniki zadovoljstva zaposlenih pri delu s starostniki? Rezultati: Faktorska analiza je določila štiri faktorje, in sicer prvi posebnosti dela v zdravstveni negi in oskrbi, drugi delovni pogoji, tretji dejavniki zdravstvene nege in oskrbe in četrti potrebno znanje, ki skupaj pokrivajo 70,17 % delež skupne variance. Kljub obremenitvam zaposlene delo v zdravstveni negi in oskrbi veseli s povprečjem AS=4,24; SO=0,93 in jim ponuja osebno zadovoljstvo v povprečju AS=3,84; SO=1,03, na lestvici od 1 do 5. Diskusija in zaključek: Delo starostniki zahteva visoko stopnjo prilagajanja posebnostim in pogojem dela s posebnimi obremenitvami, ki izhajajo iz potreb po zdravstveni negi in oskrbi stanovalcev v domovih. Dejavniki (ne)zadovoljstva kažejo na povečan časovni pritisk pri izvajanju zdravstvene nege in oskrbe, odgovornost za veliko število stanovalcev, pomanjkanje strokovnega kadra ter delo z zahtevnimi starostniki. Ugotovljena dejstva bi kazalo natančneje raziskati in pripraviti načrt sprememb.of nursing. Nowadays the elderly in institutional care are 80 years or older, have multiple clinical diseases or emergency complications, which changes treatment, demands personnel, qualification and structural changes in work organizations. Methods: The research is based on quantitative approaches with a survey about pressure and contentment with work. Statistical processing will be performed in a program packet SPSS17 for Windows. The methods used will be descriptive statistics and factor analysis. The purpose of the article is to find out factors of contentment of staff to work in institutional care of elderly. The research question is: which are basic factors of contentment of staff at work with the elderly. Results: Factor analysis determined four factors, namely first specifications of working in health care and treatment, second work conditions, third factors of health care and treatment and fourth knowledge requirements, which cover 70.17 % of joint variability. Despite pressures, workers in health care treatment enjoy working by score of AS=4.24; SO= 0.93, and gives them pleasure in average of AS= 3.84: So= 1.03 on a scale from 1 to 5. Discussion and conclusion: Working with the elderly demands high stage of adjustment to specifications and working terms with special pressures, which come from need of health care and treatment of residents in nursing homes. Factors of (dis) satisfaction show elevated time pressure of performing of nursing and treatment, responsibility for higher numbers of residents, lack of competent personnel and demands of the elderly. Discovered facts further thoroughly show research and preparation of plan changes.
