Abstract     The school population is healthy and dynamic, with a great need for learning and creativity. It is developing and changing intensely. Without sufficiently understanding approach normal developmental variants can turn pathological. Education about healthy lifestyle represents an integral part of health care of children and youth, and is achieved by cooperation of general practitioners, teachers and youths themselves. In this way young person is gaining positive experiences by solving his/hers own problems. The importance of the complex health care of children and adolescents in connection with school as their natural environment is being increasingly emphasised all over the world. The incessant intermixing of young people's actual health needs and potential consequences for their adult life gives modern school medicine special significance and determines the direction of its research work.
