Abstract		In last years several branches of psychology evolved, being either directly related to medicine (e.g. health psychology) or having some relevance to this sphere. The latter include research of the so called naive or lay-science, known also as the attribution theory, examining different human explanations of matters, including health and illness. In the article children's idea of health and illness is presented, as well as factors influencing it, its effect on the doctor-child communication and on the child's behaviour. The results are illustrated by concrete cases.
