Abstract		Complex treatment of child and adolescent with epilepsy is aimed not only at good medical treatment but also at prevention of possible difficulties. Schoolchild with epilepsy has more psychosocial problems than a healthy one. Numerous studies have shown that many of these problems can be eliminated or at least alleviated. For the child and adolescent to live a happy and creative life, everybody involved in their life and education should get acquainted with the disease. Beside the education of patients, parents and relatives it is very important that pedagogues and broader social community get acquainted with problems of epileptic child and possible means for their elimination. School system should provide adequate education of pedagogues in this field. At Maribor Pedagogic faculty students were informed about the childhood epilepsy by a lecture accompanied by video. Inquiry showed that for 96.3 percent of students epilepsy thus became more understandable and less scaring, a fundamental prerequisite for adequate treatment of pupil with epilepsy.
