Abstract		The author presents specific approach to treatment of asthmatic children and adolescents. About 350 asthmatic patients as well as their parents and teachers are participating in the educational programme and in further individual treatment in consulting centre for the asthmatic children. In the article health history and need for appropriate treatment according to the type of the disease is presented in children responding to the centre's invitation. In nonresponding children the possible causes for lack of motivation, implied by their medical records, are discussed. The results of the presented approach are very encouraging: patients and their parents get acquainted with patterns of disease control and self aid because of better familiarity with the disease, its treatment and attack prevention.
