Abstract     From 1946 till his death, Dr. Polde Brenčič was one of the most prominent dentists in the region of Celje. He studied medicine in Prague, and specialized in stomatology as well. After the second world war he also specialized in orthodontia and dental surgery. He organized dental care in the region of Celje, where he was the very soul of the regional dental association DZDS. For some time he was a head of the Railway Dental Service, and later head of the Department of Stomatology in the General Clinic in Celje (1961-1967). In 1962 he was nominated Medical Counsellor. He wrote his first poems when he was in grammar school. Later on he wrote some occasional poems for his close friends. Many of them were forgotten. The very few poems that remained show his loving attitude towards those, close to him and painful awareness of the oncoming old age and death. These poems expressing nostalgia over youth and bitter awareness of the old age with no prospects are typical for the period from his retirement to his death in 1986.
