Abstract		These lesions are usually seen in patients under 30 years of age. They often have an eccentric location which, together with the "ballooning-out" distension of the periosteum, is responsible for their name. The lesion is benign but its expansion may be rapid. Histologically, this expanding osteolytic lesion is characterized by blood-filled spaces with septa comprising connective tissue and bony trabeculae, osteoid and giant cells are usually present.
